Head of Perm Eduard Sosnin: “We have outlined plans to sign an agreement between Perm and Minsk”
Since July 3, a Perm delegation led by Eduard Sosnin has been in the capital of the Republic of Belarus on a working trip. On July 4, the business part of the program took place: we inspected public amenities, infrastructure, got acquainted with the organization of TOS, and also discussed plans for interaction between cities.
Perm is one of the Russian cities that is actively developing international cooperation. For example, cooperation with the Republic of Belarus in modern conditions takes on current meaning.
Since July 3, a Perm delegation led by Eduard Sosnin has been in Minsk on a working trip. The delegation also included the Deputy Head of the Perm Administration Ekaterina Maltseva and the Chief of Staff of the Administration Alexander Molokovskikh. On July 3, the Republic of Belarus celebrated the main national holiday - Independence Day and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. On this day, a parade of troops and a theatrical procession took place in Minsk. The Perm delegation also visited other festive events and excursions in Minsk. The business part of the program took place on July 4th.
– The Perm delegation continues to get acquainted with the infrastructure of Minsk. Today, the next step is to visit public amenities and industrial facilities. We got acquainted with the activities of the Life Safety Education Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. It covers all types of security as well as crime prevention. The center receives 50,000 people a year. One educational program lasts 2 hours. Perm teachers who visit Minsk as part of our cooperation need to familiarize themselves with the program in this center in order to learn from experience to teach our children,” said the head of the city.
In addition, members of the delegation visited a waste sorting plant and a solid waste landfill. We studied the technologies of its work and the experience of Minsk in their implementation. The next point was the nursery of the unitary enterprise “Brovki Minskzelenstroy”. It was founded in 1975; now, on an area of 300 hectares, large trees, perennials and even rolled lawns are grown here. The head of Perm noted that representatives of the Perm nursery and Minsk colleagues should exchange experience in this area.
At the meeting with the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev, we discussed many joint projects and agreed to cooperate in the economy, sports, and education.
– Perm and Minsk have long-standing friendly relations, and each meeting strengthens our ties and opens up new horizons for cooperation. During a conversation with Vladimir Evgenievich, plans were outlined to sign an agreement between Perm and Minsk. We are focused on the development of Perm, so we carefully study the experience of other cities and strive to adopt the best practices, in return we share ours to make our cities better and more comfortable to live in. I thank the authorities of Minsk and the Sovetsky district for such a warm welcome and useful experience,” noted Eduard Sosnin.
Members of the Perm delegation visited the North Shore development area, Lakeside Park, as well as the street food recreation area Lidbeer Dvor, located in the very heart of Minsk - in the Sovetsky district.
At a meeting with the Chairman of CTP Vladimir Ustinovich, the organization of the work of the CTP was discussed. A reform is taking place in Minsk - TOS will be assigned to deputy constituencies, and deputies will head them. After the online meeting on May 7, Minsk colleagues noted that they were impressed by the Perm work with TOS and would like to get acquainted with their work on the spot. The head of Perm invited Belarusian colleagues to Perm so that they could look and study our system. As part of this meeting, our delegation was presented with a landscaped public garden on Melezha Street - a joint work of the district administration and TOS.
